Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to design and maintain an enterprise data warehouse and data marts for a global insurer. You will build ETL pipelines, deliver data extracts, and create analytical reports for business users and downstream systems.

You will optimize performance, implement SCD types, and collaborate with analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions. Strong SQL, SSIS, and data warehousing concepts are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data warehouse/ETL development experience.
• Proficiency in MS SQL Server, including database engine, objects, and admin basics.
• Advanced T-SQL: complex queries, window functions, CTEs, stored procedures, dynamic SQL, error handling.
• SSIS design, development, deployment, troubleshooting, including config, logging, scheduling.
• Performance optimization: reading execution plans, index strategy, large data loads.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts: Kimball, star/snowflake schemas, data layers, incremental loads.
• Understanding of Slowly Changing Dimensions and practical implementation of SCD types.
• Ability to read/write technical specs and source-to-target mappings.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, independent work with stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn cloud data platforms and new technologies.
• English at Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support the enterprise data warehouse and data marts.
• Build, schedule, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from operational sources.
• Develop data extracts for internal and external systems.
• Create and enhance analytical reports and datasets.
• Analyze and optimize query and pipeline performance.
• Translate business requirements into data models and tech solutions.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues; perform data reconciliation.
• Provide production support: monitor loads, troubleshoot incidents, root cause analysis.
• Maintain up-to-date data mappings and data flow descriptions.
• Participate in code reviews and follow version control and release procedures.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to architectural decisions.
