Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Senior Data Scientist with AI and cloud expertise to collaborate with software engineers, ML engineers and business stakeholders for scalable AI-powered solutions.

You will build AI Agents, data applications and pipelines on cloud infrastructure, deliver Power BI reports, and support CI/CD for AI projects while engaging stakeholders for requirements and feedback.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in AI/ML/Data engineering roles with production delivery.

Job description

We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with AI and Cloud expertise for a leading oil and gas company. You will work alongside Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers and business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into reliable, scalable AI-powered solutions. You will contribute to developing AI Agents, end-to-end data applications and the internal platform that hosts them, along with the data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and automation that support them.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Agents on modern LLM frameworks for analytics assistants, automation and decision support, including engineering prompts, tools, memory and orchestration logic for reliable agent behavior
• Integrate AI Agents with internal data sources, APIs and enterprise applications
• Contribute to the internal platform that hosts, deploys and monitors AI Agents, and build reusable components for orchestration, evaluation, observability and governance
• Design and develop end-to-end data applications, tools and interfaces in Python and React / JavaScript, including APIs, dashboards and interactive interfaces that bring advanced analytics to business users
• Develop advanced analytical models and Power BI deliverables, and define standards and templates that improve consistency and reuse
• Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that prepare, transform and deliver high-quality data for AI and analytics workloads
• Deploy and operate AI solutions on cloud and hybrid infrastructure, making effective use of managed AI, compute and storage services
• Support CI/CD pipelines for AI agents and data applications
• Communicate with internal customers and business teams to gather requirements and feedback and to support adoption of AI solutions

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in similar roles (AI Engineer, ML Engineer, Data Engineer), including hands‑on experience delivering AI or data solutions to production
• Proficiency in Python
• Expertise in React, JavaScript and TypeScript for frontend development
• Skills in writing performant SQL on relational and analytical databases
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs, working with Git and following modern software engineering practices
• Understanding of data architecture concepts, including data warehousing, data lakes and ETL/ELT
• Experience with Power BI, including data modeling and report development
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
• Nice to have Familiarity with LLM and agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel or AutoGen
• Experience with vector databases
