Job summary

TWG Global AI is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead detection of information-driven trading and to validate the system with rigorous statistical methods. The role is based in Santa Monica, CA, or New York, NY, with on-site work and collaboration across business units.

You will oversee labeling quality, mentor junior team members, and help expand the validation program to new markets within a regulated, audit-ready environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industry experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with weak/noisy labels and human-in-the-loop labeling systems.
• Quantitative finance or empirical research background is highly desirable.
• Strong empirical and statistical background: hypothesis testing and backtesting.
• Production ML experience in regulated, audit-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Build detection logic for insider and information-driven trading across venues with boundary awareness.
• Design and run rigorous validation of system outputs using statistical testing and backtesting.
• Own the quality and trustworthiness of training labels, including the DeFi label corpus.
• Grow the validation workflow into a repeatable, audit-ready capability for new markets.
• Mentor junior team members contributing to validation and analysis work.
