  • Continually improve and monitor new and existing risk models and strategies.
  • Present your insights and suggestions to both technical and non-technical audiences of all levels in the company.
  • Audit 3rd party data vendors in the marketplace risk space for Turo’s models and risk strategies.
  • Own and provide technical guidance to the Engineering teams to ensure the data quality of your projects including training, test and experiment data.
Your profile
  • You are a creative and rigorous data scientist with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • You are comfortable with a range of statistical and ML techniques with the ability to apply them to deliver measurable business impact at Turo.
  • Modeling is your thing, you are proficient in translating unstructured business problems into mathematical frameworks, and propose scalable solutions.
  • You have a passion for consumer products, shipping high quality code, and data focused experiments.
  • You are excited to play a key role in crafting the product from inception to implementation and beyond.
  • 4+ years of Data Science and Machine Learning modeling experience.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams with PMs, Trust & Safety Agents, Analytics and Engineers.
  • Deep understanding of mathematical methods in statistics, optimization, and ML.
  • Demonstrable experience applying these methods to real world prediction problems (classification, regression, anomaly detection, time series).
  • Value Autonomy; Ability to think critically, understand and communicate complex problems in a result-oriented, data-driven manner with a focus on business impact.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with high attention to detail.
