Job summary

Hinge, a leading dating app, is seeking a Data Scientist for its Recommendations team in New York. You will shape the models that influence what millions of users see daily, collaborating with PMs, ML engineers, data scientists, engineering, and user research to run rigorous experiments and uncover insights that drive product strategy.

You will translate objectives into data science problems, apply statistical inference, and surface behavioral insights to guide feature development and model

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as data scientist, ideally at a consumer-facing company.
• Experience designing and analyzing experiments (A/B tests).
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python (R acceptable but Python used).
• Strong knowledge of statistics with ML understanding and curiosity to learn.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and iterate on product features and strategy.
• Translate product objectives to data science problems and vice versa.
• Apply statistical inference to analyze data and inform product strategy through A/B tests.
• Dig into user behavior through exploratory analysis to surface insights for product teams.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to evaluate, improve, and monitor production models.
