Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Manager, Data Scientist for Credit Review Data in Illinois. You will lead modeling across large datasets, work with Python, AWS, and Spark, and translate complex analytics into business outcomes.

You will collaborate with risk experts, product managers, and data scientists to deliver high-impact decisions and scalable solutions while advancing best practices in model governance and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) plus 6 years analytics
• Master’s Degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 4 years analytics
• PhD in a quantitative field plus 1 year analytics
• At least 1 year of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis
• At least 1 year of experience working with machine learning
• At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases

Responsibilities

• Leverage a broad stack of technologies to reveal insights in large volumes of data
• Build statistical and machine learning models to challenge production models
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals
• Partner with cross-functional team to deliver a product customers love
