Walmart is seeking a Senior Data Scientist in Bentonville, AR to leverage advanced analytics and build data-driven solutions supporting strategic business objectives. You will mentor peers, design predictive models, and deploy scalable analytics across cross-functional teams.

The role focuses on anomaly detection, causal inference, prescriptive recommendations, and operations forecasting, using Python, SQL, and PySpark in production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 year experience in analytics.
• 5 years' experience in analytics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Architect Anomaly Detection: Flag delivery irregularities using time-series forecasting, clustering, or statistical limits.
• Automate Root Cause Analysis: Deploy causal inference agents to isolate systemic network issues from localized friction.
• Build Prescriptive Engines: Translate insights into action by algorithmically recommending optimal interventions (e.g., re-routing, incentives).
• Leverage Forecasting: Predict operational states to establish baselines and simulate the impact of proposed solutions.
• Scale Data Operations: Write production-grade Python, SQL, and PySpark to process massive distributed datasets.
• Define Technical Roadmap: Advise leadership on modeling trade-offs and drive the strategic path to value.
