Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery seeks an experienced data scientist to lead the design and delivery of machine learning solutions within the Data & Analytics organization. You will shape modeling approaches and support foundational training and inference pipelines at scale.

You will drive cutting-edge capabilities including large language models, computer vision, and advanced ad/content targeting, while mentoring teams and setting best practices across the function.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, economics, industrial engineering, or another quantitative discipline is required.
• 5–8 years of experience building data science or statistical models, such as multivariate regression, time series models, XGBoost, and causal inference.
• Strong understanding of modern machine learning approaches, such as GBDT, CNN, LSTM, GRU, HRNN, transformers, siamese neural networks, and variational auto-encoders.
• Experience with deep learning, NLP, LLMs, reinforcement learning, and causal inference.
• Good knowledge of machine learning tools and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Spark.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Familiarity with real-world machine learning systems, including configuration, data collection, data verification, feature extraction, resource and process management, analytics, training, serving, validation, experimentation, and monitoring.
• Good understanding of operating machine learning solutions at scale, covering the end-to-end machine learning workflow.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, collaborate, and influence.
• Ability to deliver on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels.
• Deep understanding of different types of data, metrics, and KPIs.
• Successful track record for ambitious projects across cross-functional teams.
• Passionate, results-oriented, and hands-on, with a commitment to technical excellence.
• Track record of earning respect through concrete accomplishments.

About the Role

The role sits within Warner Bros. Discovery's Data & Analytics organisation, which develops and maintains frameworks, tools, and data products for WBD, including the streaming product Max and non-streaming businesses such as Films Group, Sports, and News. It focuses on building machine learning solutions, unlocking machine learning opportunities, and creating foundational training and inference pipelines at scale. The team's mission is to foster unified analytics and drive data-driven use cases through a multi-tenant platform and semantic layer, supporting subscriber growth, engagement, and timely decision-making across the company.
