New Balance Athletics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Forecasting, to advance global forecasting initiatives across demand planning and inventory.

You will build and maintain forecasting models, collaborate with business partners, and deploy results for practical use in production systems. Qualifications include 2+ years in data science or forecasting, strong Python/SQL, and experience with cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in data science, ML, forecasting, or similar role.
• Experience with forecasting models and optimization in demand planning and inventory.
• Strong Python and SQL with scalable modeling workflows on large data.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder partnership skills.
• BA/BS in data science, statistics, CS, math, economics, engineering, OR.
• Masters or PhD in a technical field is preferred.
• Experience in retail, consumer products, or supply chain.
• Experience with cloud platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience building production DS products, APIs, dashboards, optimization engines.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery, product ownership, roadmap planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve forecasting models for demand planning, allocation, inventory, and related decisions.
• Analyze demand, inventory, traffic, logistics, and fashion trends to drive forecast performance.
• Translate business needs into modeling requirements and communicate outputs clearly.
• Partner with engineering and MLOps to deploy, monitor, retrain, and maintain production forecasts.
• Create reusable code, documentation, and tests to improve reliability.
