Job summary

OKX, a leading crypto exchange, is seeking a Sr Data Scientist, Risk to provide strategic analytical leadership. You will identify fraud patterns, develop models, and guide engineering integrations while communicating insights to technical and non-technical partners in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in fraud analytics within FinTech, deep ML knowledge (GBM/XGBoost/LGBM), and crypto experience. Willingness to travel and strong communication complete the profile.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or PhD) in a quantitative field; Bachelor's with significant relevant experience considered.
• 4+ years of fraud analytics experience in financial services or FinTech.
• Crypto/Blockchain experience.
• Deep understanding of modern ML techniques and algorithms (GBM, XGBoost, LGBM).
• Advanced programming skills in SQL, R, Python.
• Strong track record of owning large, complex data analysis projects.
• Demonstrated capacity for innovation and exploratory thinking.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment with initiative.
• Ability and willingness to travel; strong written and verbal communication.
• Multi-tasking and robust project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify complex fraud patterns and their technical root causes through data mining and analysis.
• Serve as technical SME by sharing new data mining techniques and interfacing with partner teams.
• Communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide technical guidance for engineering projects incorporating new data points.
• Link Analysis/Graph analytics to detect fraud networks and new accounts.
• Apply unsupervised learning to augment supervised models or detect anomalies.
• Develop machine learning models.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to implement features and models.
