Job summary

The Trade Desk is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design, build, and scale data-driven solutions for forecasting, pacing, and recommendation systems. You will develop advanced ML or DL models that influence planning, allocation, and performance on our platform.

As an end-to-end data scientist, you will work with engineering through ideation to production, monitor models, and deliver data-focused products for clients and traders.

Qualifications

• BS/MS with 5+ years or PhD with 3+ years of DS/ML experience bringing products from ideation to production.
• Experience building ML models in always-on production systems and working with diverse data sources.
• Strong experience in forecasting, pacing, or recommendation systems.
• Proficient in Python.
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience running heavy workloads on distributed computing clusters (EMR or Databricks), using Spark for large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale data-driven solutions powering forecasting, pacing, and recommendation systems.
• Develop forecasting models using statistical, ML, and deep learning approaches.
• Build and optimise pacing algorithms balancing short-term and long-term objectives.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business goals into data science solutions.
• Work with engineering to deploy models from prototype to production.
• Define success metrics, run offline evaluations and online experiments.
• Communicate technical results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
