Plaid is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Embedded Insights team, the first data science hire within the group. You will establish analytics and metrics foundations for a diverse set of internal and external Plaid products and partners.

You will drive better decision-making, support ML model development, and contribute to the health of the Plaid network and product quality. Collaborative, impact-focused work with product and engineering teams awaits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience in Data Science or a related analytics role.
• Deep familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools.
• Understanding of modern machine learning techniques, such as classification, clustering, and optimization.
• Experience evaluating model performance and linking results to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze entities across the Plaid network to understand behavior, opportunities, anomalies, and risks.
• Create metrics, dashboards, and monitoring systems for network health and model performance.
• Evaluate the value and performance of machine learning models using internal data.
• Translate findings into actionable narratives for product and engineering leaders.
• Design experiments, define success metrics, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
• Analyze product and customer data to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to build reliable data models and analytics workflows.
