Job summary

Zurich North America, RCIS division, is hiring a Sr Data Scientist Analyst. The role reports to the Head of Underwriting, Crop Analytics, and offers hybrid work from Schaumburg, IL or Anoka, MN or remote for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include building models for crop insurance, data integration, pricing and profitability analytics, and leading reviews for new RMA products. Minimum 8+ years in predictive analytics with Hadoop/Hive/Pig/Java/SQL/Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math/Statistics/Technology with 8+ years in Predictive Analytics.
• Experience applying data transformation techniques: exact/probabilistic matching, fuzzy matching, text mining, data reduction.
• Proficiency with Hadoop/Hive/Pig, Java/SQL/Python.

Responsibilities

• Build or enhance models for crop insurance business.
• Integrate external data sources for predictive analytics.
• Analyze and report on crop products requiring modeling for pricing, yield, and performance.
• Refresh profitability models at county and crop levels.
• Monitor and streamline premium estimation models.
• Lead maintenance of fund designation models.
• Oversee Review Project with historical data and state/county data.
• Participate in NCIS committees and new RMA product reviews.
