Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Scientist to join the US Card Data Science team. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to build and deploy ML models across the credit card lifecycle, turning complex insights into real-world impact.

You will use Python, AWS, Spark, and tools like H2O to analyze billions of records, optimize marketing, underwriting, and fraud prevention, and translate analytics into business decisions that save customers time and money.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field with required experience.
• Experience with AWS is preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R; 2+ years ML; 2+ years SQL.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love
• Leverage a broad stack of technologies — Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more — to reveal insights from large data sets
• Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals
