Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Data Scientist focused on capacity planning for AWS Support. The role models forecasting and optimization, partnering with data engineering, operations, workforce management, and finance to scale modeling across the network.

Responsibilities include building data management frameworks, implementing data-driven solutions, and refining ML models to drive business value and cost reductions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SQL, scripting languages (Python), or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab).
• 4+ years of data science experience.
• Experience with multinomial logistic regression.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement data management and strategy frameworks covering data collection, storage, integration, and safeguarding data quality and integrity.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify data challenges and opportunities, design data-driven solutions, and align the data strategy with organizational goals.
• Perform analyses to determine data needs, assess current data infrastructure, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
• Utilize large-scale data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop to manage big data and support model training and evaluation.
• Monitor and refine machine learning models by incorporating stakeholder feedback and tracking production performance.
• Develop ML models that forecast outcomes to inform strategic plans and drive business value.
• Analyze customer data and market trends to support data-driven go-to-market strategies and pricing decisions.
• Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and forecast revenue growth.
