Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field
• Master's degree preferred
• 15+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or applied ML
• Experience designing, building, or integrating centralized data environments/data lakes/enterprise analytics platforms
• Strong proficiency with Python, R, or similar programming languages
• Hands-on experience with Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and ML in cloud environments
• Experience applying ML, CV, and pattern recognition to real-world datasets
• Experience developing, training, validating, and deploying ML models
• Familiarity with geospatial tools like ArcGIS and Python libraries
• Experience integrating heterogeneous datasets (device, event, location, image) for advanced analysis
• Strong API, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and modern data engineering practices
• Ability to translate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously in a mission-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Assess data sources and define requirements for a unified, secure data environment
• Recommend tools and architectures to integrate disparate data types
• Develop and deploy AI/ML models within the centralized data environment
• Evaluate software, APIs, and data pipelines to support analytics workflows
• Collaborate with federal leadership and technical stakeholders on requirements and security
• Leverage Databricks to train, validate, and deploy models
• Develop scalable analytics solutions for large, complex datasets
• Create automated data pipelines and workflows for investigative data
• Analyze evidence images and metadata to identify relationships across cases
• Apply AI/ML, CV, and pattern recognition to detect trends and patterns
• Combine geospatial data to create visual summaries and hotspot analyses
• Develop predictive assessments for emerging trends and future activity
• Standardize and enrich location data for accuracy
• Automate image tagging, classification, and metadata extraction
• Ensure data is searchable, structured, and optimized for analysis
• Provide training and guidance to federal personnel on tools and workflows
• Offer ongoing technical support to improve data handling and operations
• Collaborate with investigators to align tools with mission needs
• Translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to automate and enhance analytics
