Job summary

Federated Hermes is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist I in Pittsburgh, PA, to drive end-to-end data science work across the Azure cloud ecosystem. You will develop models, prep data, and deploy AI-powered data products while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

You should bring 2–4 years of data science experience, strong Python and Spark skills, and proficiency with data visualization (Power BI). The role offers a hybrid in-office schedule in Pittsburgh and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 2–4 years of professional data science experience with data transformation and algorithm development.
• Proficient in Python, Spark/PySpark, SQL, and cloud data platforms like Databricks.
• Experience manipulating large datasets and varied database structures.
• Proficient in Power BI data visualization in professional settings.
• Experience with data products supporting model/algorithm development and productionizing.
• Experience with LLM/generative AI tooling and APIs (OpenAI, Claude, LangChain).
• Experience with Azure cloud ecosystem and Microsoft Foundry preferred.
• Experience deploying ML or generative AI pipelines; strong problem-solving skills.
• Analytical agility and familiarity with software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead full data science lifecycle from strategy and data prep to algorithm development.
• Work across Azure Cloud tools, Databricks, and frontier models to build AI-powered data products.
• Communicate results clearly to non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption.
