Job Summary

Celestar, a B&A Company, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist seated in the National Capital Region.

Responsibilities

• Conducts data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, and uses scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions.
• Proactively retrieves information from various sources, analyzes it to better understand the dataset, and builds Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that automate certain processes.
• Duties typically include: creating various Machine Learning (ML)-based tools or processes, such as recommendation engines or automated lead scoring systems.
• Performs statistical analysis, applies data mining techniques, and builds high-quality prediction systems.
• Should be skilled in data visualization and use of graphical applications, including Microsoft Office (Power BI) and Tableau.
• Major data science languages, such as R and Python.
• Managing and merging of disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL, statistical analysis, and data mining algorithms.
• Should have prior experience with large data, Multi-INT analytics, ML, and automated predictive analytics.
• Provide senior-level enterprise support through data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, and use scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions for multiple cover databases and applications in support of the defense cover program.

Education and Experience

• Master’s Degree with 12 years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with an additional 5 years of related experience (total of 17 years) instead of a master’s degree.
• 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category, with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.

Required Skills

• Experience working with R, Python, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Security Clearance TS/SCI with CI Poly.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without accommodation. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer. Frequently operate standard office equipment, including computers and telephones. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and email. Occasionally move about the office and lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to work the assigned schedule with regular and reliable attendance. Ability to travel up to 10% as required.
