Job summary

Storm2 partners with a venture-backed fintech to reinvent credit underwriting using AI-native risk models built from transaction data and financial documents. We seek a Senior ML Data Scientist to shape the future of credit, fraud, and underwriting platforms in an onsite SF setting.

You will deploy production ML models, leverage embeddings, transformers, and LLMs, and collaborate with risk and engineering teams to bring models into live decisioning systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of ML, Data Science, Credit Risk, or Fraud experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLMs, embeddings, transformers, or deep learning models into production.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, or similar frameworks.
• Strong fundamentals in statistics, experimentation, anomaly detection, and model evaluation.
• Someone who thrives in early-stage environments and enjoys influencing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy production ML models across credit risk, underwriting, and fraud.
• Use embeddings, neural networks, transformers, and LLMs to create richer representations of financial data.
• Develop underwriting workflows that combine classical ML with modern AI architectures.

What you'll work on:
