Job summary

Verizon is seeking a data science professional to drive data-derived insights across the business by developing advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms. You will direct data gathering and synthesize large analytics datasets to support project goals.

The role involves working with both structured and unstructured data, building end-to-end analytics solutions, and mentoring junior teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience in analytics or data science.
• Experience in advanced analytics/predictive modelling, statistics or data mining.
• Experience with B2B data (firmographics, contact, technographics, buyer signals).
• Experience using GenAI/LLM tools to accelerate software delivery.
• Experience across end-to-end Analytics projects ( ingestion, munging, modeling, validation, deployment, monitoring ).
• Experience building models with supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, text classification.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced statistical models, ML algorithms and computational methods based on business initiatives.
• Gather data, assess validity and create large analytics datasets for project goals.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data using mining, ML, visualization and storytelling tools.
• Build and train statistical models and ML algorithms.
• Handle operationalization tasks (wrapper scripts, REST services, triggers, monitoring).
• Prepare supporting documents and reports for stakeholders.
• Mentor 1–2 team members on technical aspects as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing...

• Driving data-derived insights across the business domain by developing advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms and computational algorithms based on business initiatives.
• Directing the gathering of data, assessing data validity and synthesizing data into large analytics datasets to support project goals.
• Analysing structured and unstructured data using data mining/statistical/machine learning/deep learning tools, Data visualization, Digital/Web analytics tools and techniques and storytelling.
• Building and training statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
• Performing tasks related to Operationalization - eg. wrapper script, REST service, Trigger, Monitoring etc.
• Preparing all the supporting documents and reports.
• Mentoring/Guiding one to two members in the team on technical aspects as needed.

You’ll Need To Have

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Four or more years of experience in advanced analytics/ predictive modelling , quantitative modeling, statistics, or data mining.
• Experience in 3rd party B2B data such as firmographics, contact details, technographics, and buyer intent signals.
• Experience utilizing GenAI/LLM tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate software delivery and development velocity.
• Experience with all phases of end-to-end Analytics project, such as (but not limited to): Ingestion, Munging, Model Building, Validation, Operationalization, Monitoring.
• Experience building models using statistical techniques such as Supervised and Unsupervised Machine Learning models, Deep learning, Text classification etc.
• Knowledge of Python, Sql, PySpark, Scala and/or other languages and tools.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Master's degree.
• Experience working in analytical projects in telecom domain.

• Experience in data lake.
• Problem solving, analytical, and research skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience presenting to and influencing functional leaders and partners.
• Ability to work effectively independently and willingness to learn new technologies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $101,000.00 - $194,000.00.
