Job summary
NetApp is seeking a Senior/Principal Data Processing Engineer - OSS to join our data platforms team in San Jose, CA. You will contribute to open-source projects like Apache Gluten, Velox, Spark and Flink, enhancing performance, scale, and reliability of our data processing engine across cloud and on-prem deployments.
You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with product management and customer teams, drive OSS integration, validate data processing pipelines, and help shape product
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 12+ years of production software development and support experience.
- 10+ years in developing data processing pipelines with Spark-based products preferred.
- Strong track record in leading global enterprise software support.
- Experience validating data accuracy, performance, reliability, and security in data processing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of engineers for data processing platforms.
- Drive OSS integration and contribute to upstream/downstream projects.
- Ensure customer success in deployment and usage of the data processing platform.
- Collaborate with product management, customer success, and sales teams.
- Improve and measure product quality and support metrics.
