Mozilla Corporation is a mission-driven org building open-source software to empower users online. The Data Engineering team seeks a Senior Staff Data Engineer / Data Platform Engineer to lead data platform initiatives and work across Data Platform Engineering and Data Engineering.

You will design and optimize systems for tens of terabytes per day, evaluate new technologies, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Data Science, Product, Legal, Policy, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields.
• Strong expertise in data engineering and data platform engineering.
• Advanced coding in SQL and Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve systems to process data at scale.
• Evaluate new technologies and set best-practice standards.
• Craft and improve workflows in GCP using Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, GKE, Airflow.
• Drive cross-functional projects with stakeholders across Mozilla.
• Mentor teammates and develop engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Data Science to design data abstractions.
• Address evolving needs of active Data Products.
