Job summary

Akaasa Technologies is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support and maintain enterprise data platforms and cloud-native applications running on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Spark, Hadoop, distributed data processing, Kafka streaming, and Kubernetes/EKS, with a focus on production support, reliability, troubleshooting, and automation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in data engineering and big data.
• Hands-on Spark apps using Scala or Python.
• Experience with distributed data processing and large-scale batch workloads.
• Cloud-native apps on AWS and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Kafka-based streaming architectures.
• ETL/data ingestion pipelines using Apache NiFi.
• Strong Hadoop ecosystem and data lake understanding.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Production support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, IaC, and cloud security practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for data platforms and ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance of batch and real-time pipelines.
• Collaborate with SRE, Infra, Development, and Business teams to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Automate platform reliability and deployment pipelines.
