Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data/Platform Engineer to rebuild a legacy data pipeline and modernize the platform. You will design integrations for APIs, vendor feeds, BigQuery, and other data sources while building event-driven ETL processes using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.

You will manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization best practices, establishing observability and data quality standards across production systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale data platforms or data engineering environments.
• Proven experience re-architecting, modernizing, or rebuilding data pipelines and platforms.
• Strong development skills in Python/Node.js/Go/TypeScript and backend systems.
• Deep knowledge of ETL, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, and integrations with external data sources.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild and modernize a legacy data pipeline to enable scalable ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Design and develop integrations for APIs, vendor feeds, BigQuery, and other data sources.
• Build event-driven services and ETL processes using modern languages.
• Manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization best practices.
• Establish observability, monitoring, lineage tracking, and data quality standards.
• Lead migration, reconciliation, backfill, and cutover efforts ensuring data accuracy.
