Job summary

AWS is seeking a Delivery Consultant specializing in Data Engineering & Architecture to design and build cloud-based data platforms for public sector clients. This on-site role involves working with federal/state/local government and national security customers, traveling to client sites as needed.

You will lead data architecture, data lake/warehouse initiatives, and modern data migrations while collaborating with a world‑class team across the AWS Professional Services organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience.
• 5+ years of database (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience.
• 3+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience.
• 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience.
• 5+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience.
• Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience.
• Experience with SQL, Python, schema definition, and software engineering best practices including secure, testable, and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Clarify customer outcomes and translate into data architecture and engineering solutions.
• Design and build scalable, secure data analytics applications in the cloud.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose migration strategies.
• Identify risks and communicate trade-offs affecting solutions.
• Act as trusted advisor on data trends and new technologies.
• Mentor teammates and share reusable artifacts.
