Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional IT experience in data migration, data engineering, or related fields.
• Experience with large-scale data migration or modernization projects.
• Strong experience with database systems, data architecture, and data integration.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data transformation, validation, and data quality.
• Experience migrating data from multiple legacy environments and preserving data attributes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior SME for data migration, data engineering, and enterprise data platforms.
• Lead planning, execution, and oversight of large-scale ELSUR/FISA data migration from legacy systems.
• Analyze legacy databases, schemas, and metadata to design migration strategies.
• Design and oversee data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading processes.
• Ensure preservation of data, metadata, relationships, and user markings during migration.
• Validate migrated data for accuracy, integrity, and security in the new system.
• Provide guidance on database architecture, data modeling, and legacy modernization.
• Identify and resolve complex data quality and migration issues.
• Ensure secure handling of sensitive information throughout migration and testing.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, cybersecurity, and government stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain migration plans, data mappings, and validation procedures.
• Provide senior-level risk assessments and recommendations throughout the lifecycle.
