Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Links/Networking Engineer with an engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, to support the Special Operations Forces/Personnel Recovery (AFLCMC/WIS) directorate.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provide interoperability engineering, consultation, and support for data links and networking in designing, developing, manufacturing, integrating, testing, and deploying communication subsystems for air-to-air and air-to-ground systems. This includes development and testing of data link messaging such as J-Series, K-Series, and VMF messages per MIL-STDs -6016 and -6017, as well as development and sustainment of Network Architectures and processes for AFSIT and JITC certifications.
2. Offer advisory assistance and draft documentation to support reviews, studies, performance requirements, and system-level modifications affecting flight mechanics and integration.
3. Support the government by providing knowledge, guidance, and artifacts for systems integration, OSS&E, airworthiness certification per MIL-HDBK-516, safety per MIL-STD-882, and AFI 63-1201 Life Cycle Systems Engineering.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with at least 12 years of relevant engineering experience, including 6 years in systems, flight systems, avionics, software, or testing for the DoD. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in an engineering field (EE preferred) with over 12 years of experience, including 6 in the relevant areas.
• Active Secret DoD Security clearance.
• Other ABET-accredited engineering degrees are acceptable with a minimum of 8 years in relevant DoD engineering experience.
