Job summary
Talan is seeking a Senior Data Integration Developer in Houston to support an Energy Trading and Risk Management environment. You will own platform integrations, data pipelines, databases, and downstream applications within a small technical team.
The role covers 300+ data pipelines, 150+ reports/dashboards, 4–6 custom apps, and 250 business users across Front Office and Risk teams. Sponsor visas under TN/E-2 for eligible citizens.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance or Quantitative finance.
- 8+ years of relevant development/data integration experience, ideally in a senior capacity.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, SSIS, ETL, and data integration.
- Strong experience working with on-premise Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with data warehousing, data ingestion, database development, and production support.
- Python development experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and database skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership within a small technical team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL and data integration pipelines.
- Build and support SSIS / SQL Server Integration Services solutions in an on-premise Microsoft environment.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database processes.
- Support data ingestion from market, pricing, weather, broker, ISO, trade, and transactional data sources.
- Maintain downstream data warehouses supporting historical reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and analytics.
- Investigate production issues, failed data pipelines, and data discrepancies.
- Support integrations between FIS Aligne and upstream/downstream systems.
- Work directly with business users across trading, risk, settlements, and operations.
- Contribute to Python-based data processing, automation, and integration solutions.
- Take ownership of critical systems while the organization migrates toward its future trading platform.

We are looking for a Senior Data Integration Developer to support a business-critical Energy Trading and Risk Management environment for one of our key energy clients
The role sits within a small technical team supporting FIS Aligne, a legacy on-premise ETRM platform, and its broader data ecosystem. The successful candidate will take significant ownership of the platform's integrations, data pipelines, databases, and downstream applications.
The environment supports approximately 300+ data pipelines, 150+ reports and dashboards, 4–6 custom applications, and 250 business users across Front Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, Settlements, and other operational teams.
- Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL and data integration pipelines.
- Build and support SSIS / SQL Server Integration Services solutions in an on-premise Microsoft environment.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database processes.
- Support data ingestion from market, pricing, weather, broker, ISO, trade, and transactional data sources.

- Experience with other ETRM platforms such as Openlink / Endur is also relevant.
- DBA / database administration experience is a strong plus.
