Job summary

Ultra is seeking a Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer in NYC to own the data infrastructure and security architecture end-to-end. You will audit and close gaps to industry-standard practices within six months, and build the authorization framework that enables safe AI tooling across the company.

You will lead SOC2 compliance efforts, design scalable data onboarding pipelines, and partner with engineering leadership on enterprise-market expansion.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in infrastructure/security engineering with ownership of authn/authz systems in production.
• Proficient in Python; a generalist who knows when to build vs. buy.
• Led or heavily contributed to a SOC2 (or equivalent) compliance effort.

Responsibilities

• Audit existing authn/authz infrastructure and provide a gap analysis against industry standards.
• Design and execute a roadmap to bring infrastructure to industry-standard within 6 months.
• Drive SOC2 compliance workstream — controls, evidence, remediation; translate requirements into platform controls.
• Build scalable systems/tooling for onboarding new data sources.
• Design and implement authorization architecture that securely enables AI tooling across the company.
• Support software engineers and vibe-coders so teams can ship code safely and quickly.
• Partner with engineering leadership on architecture decisions that support enterprise-market expansion.
