Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to design and implement metadata management, reference data, and data quality monitoring. You will work under the Data Governance Manager, leading moderately complex projects and ensuring governance policies are followed across the enterprise.

The role requires hands-on experience with governance tools, strong SQL and data modeling skills, and collaboration with data stewards and business partners.

Qualifications

• Experience with data cataloging, data lineage, data classification, reference data management, and business glossary management.
• Experience with system and data integration via API
• Experience with major Electronic Health Record (EHR) vended solutions and deep understanding of the backend data architecture and data modeling
• Advanced SQL skills and proficient knowledge about database design, ETL processes and data mapping
• Experience with data quality monitoring and data quality improvement
• Experience collaborating across organizational levels to achieve data governance goals
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. and effective communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conducts the implementation and ongoing management of Data Governance tools
• Designs, coordinates and develops processes related to data ingestion, data lineage, data classification and data search
• Collaborates with data subject matter experts to capture the definition of business terms and metrics
• Develops and configures data quality monitoring rules and processes
• Conducts the root cause analysis of detected data quality issues
• Builds data mapping across systems to allow semantic comparability and interoperability for projects
• Applies best terminology management practices in maintaining reference data for various applications
• Engages and educates business and technical data users across the enterprise for adherence to data governance policies
• Ensures documentation, data quality, and best practices are followed across the data supply chain
• Maintains knowledge of data management industry best practices, including healthcare-specific standards
