Job summary

Visa is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering in California to lead a team of 8-10 engineers, shaping data architectures, streaming and batch pipelines, and ML workflows. You will own product technical direction, ensure data quality and security, and drive GenAI adoption to improve productivity across the organization.

This role requires collaboration with product, QA, risk, compliance, and security functions to deliver safe, transparent data solutions, while mentoring engineers and growing

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 11+ years with a higher degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale data platforms.
• Strong experience with big data tools, cloud platforms, and ML/GenAI integrations.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership to a team of 8-10 engineers.
• Own design, planning, and delivery of data engineering solutions.
• Engage with customers as primary technical contact and drive adoption.
• Ensure secure, reliable, high-performance data systems.
• Foster an agile, high-quality engineering culture across teams.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to resolve challenges and improve processes.
• Promote knowledge sharing with operations during deployment.
• Lead GenAI initiatives to improve productivity and quality.
