General Motors is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate a world-class telemetry data platform at scale. You’ll help turn billions of vehicle events into trusted data assets used across analytics, AI, and product engineering.
The role focuses on building pipelines, observability, and reliable data products. It requires hands-on Spark/Databricks expertise, cloud-native solutions, and a strong commitment to data quality and scalability.
Millions of connected vehicles generate an endless stream of telemetry every day.
That data powers connected services, software-defined vehicle capabilities, quality and warranty insights, EV experiences, product development, analytics, AI, and future vehicle innovation.
None of that happens without a world-class data platform.
We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Data Engineer to help build, scale, and operate the telemetry platform that turns massive volumes of raw vehicle data into trusted, discoverable, production‑grade data assets used across General Motors.
This is not a reporting role.
This is not a dashboard role.
This is a platform engineering role focused on building the pipelines, frameworks, quality controls, and observability capabilities that keep enterprise‑scale telemetry data flowing reliably every day.
If you enjoy building systems that process billions of events, solving distributed data challenges, and creating platforms that other teams depend on to do their jobs, you’ll love this role.
The ideal candidate is a builder who takes pride in running reliable systems at scale.
