Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent computer related experience with at least 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience.
• Advanced knowledge of data analytics and/or data warehousing principles, theories, standards and procedures.
• Ability to coach or mentor less senior staff; multitask; lead complex projects; support multiple software applications or database platforms.

Responsibilities

• Participates in defining data requirements for development, maintenance and improvement; owns technical problems through resolution.
• Prepare time and cost estimates and schedules for data development, maintenance and modification tasks.
• Review and analyze data and test results to ensure modifications are tested and meet specifications.
• Analyze user requirements, devise solutions, and prepare external specification documentation.
• Design and document data integration with diagrams, logic charts and internal specifications.
• May provide technical assistance to User Support Training organization.
• May plan and coordinate data-related activities including access requests, data standards, validation and security, data access methods, and data repository governance.
• Develop or modify SQL code; mentor in data analytics tools such as SQL, Denodo, Power BI, and cloud platforms.
• Create data visualizations and reports; direct data integration strategies; collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The Data Analytics team within the Information Technology directorate is seeking a Senior Applications Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparestimeandcostestimatesandschedulesfordatadevelopment,maintenance,and modification tasks.
• Reviewsandanalyzesdata and existing test methodstodeterminethefeasibilityofdesignchangerequests, recommendations and refinements.
• Reviewsand analyzes data and testresults to ensure modifications have been made andtested, including ensuring MSTS computer users’ specifications have been satisfied.
• Analyzesuserrequirements,devisessolutions,andpreparesexternalspecificationdocumentation.
• Designsanddocumentsdata integrationby preparingdiagrams,logicchartsandinternal specification documentation.
• MayprovidetechnicalassistancetotheUserSupportTrainingorganization.
• Mayplanandcoordinatedata-relatedactivities,including:
