Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Python, AWS) to support the design, development, and enhancement of our client's enterprise data platform. You will be hands-on building data pipelines, integrating data from operational databases, and working with modern cloud data warehouses.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Strong Python programming skills with ETL/ELT experience.
• Solid SQL skills including query optimization and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience integrating data from OLTP databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (Python, AWS) to support the design, development, and enhancement of our client’s enterprise data platform. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on data engineer with strong experience building data pipelines, integrating data from operational databases, and working with modern cloud data warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python-based ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and validation
• Design and develop data pipelines
• Develop scalable and performant data models
• Implement and maintain Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) data models to support analytics and downstream applications
• Collaborate with application developers, business users, and data consumers to understand data requirements

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience
• Strong Python programming skills with experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and data modeling
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
• Experience integrating data from OLTP databases, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) or similar layered data lake/lakehouse models
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD for data engineering workflows
