Job summary

NOV seeks a senior data engineer to lead a robust data ecosystem turning drilling, equipment, and operational data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and operations experts to deliver reliable data solutions and enable analytics and ML/AI across NOV’s operations.

Responsibilities include designing scalable data pipelines, building batch and streaming ETL/ELT, and mentoring teammates while ensuring data quality, observability, and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/CE/Data Eng or related field is required.
• 5+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles.
• Strong Python, PySpark, SQL and modern data engineering tech skills.
• Proven experience designing and operating scalable batch and streaming pipelines.
• Solid knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT, distributed processing, and cloud/hybrid data architectures.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, SQL Server, Data Lakes, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiar with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines for analytics and ML/AI.
• Build reliable batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines for diverse data types.
• Develop data models and features to support reporting, analytics, and ML workflows.
• Implement data quality, observability, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and operators to productionize models.
• Provide technical leadership and establish engineering best practices.
• Translate requirements into scalable data solutions while addressing performance risks.
