Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines powering analytics workloads. You will work in a hands-on capacity to model core data domains and enable BI, ML, and reporting across health datasets.

You will build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in a cloud environment, optimize performance, and ensure data quality and governance while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in developing complex queries.
• Experience in Python, specifically with ETL pipelines.
• Cloud deployment experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance best practices in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Architecture: Develop and optimize data models and schemas to support analytics and ML requirements.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large datasets from multiple sources.
• Performance Optimization: Tune performance, partitioning, and clustering to optimize data queries and reduce costs.
• Data Quality & Governance: Establish and enforce data quality standards, governance, and security policies.
• Data Integration & Transformation: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design data solutions for BI and ML models.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create documentation for pipelines and workflows; mentor junior engineers.
• Design and architect data infrastructure for analytical workloads; understand data warehousing concepts and data marts.
