Job summary

Kunai Co. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a high-impact data program supporting modernization of financial services platforms.

In this hands-on role, you will build and optimize data pipelines that ingest, process, and analyze vast volumes of transactional data, enabling real-time insights and data-driven decisions. You will design DynamoDB data models, work with Python, AWS, and Spark where applicable, and collaborate with data scientists and backend engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data engineering or software engineering experience.
• Expert Python programming focused on data processing and pipelines.
• Deep experience with DynamoDB data modeling, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing fundamentals (AWS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Python and DynamoDB.
• Develop DynamoDB data models and indexing for high throughput.
• Contribute to Spark-based analytics for large-scale transformations.
• Establish data validation, monitoring, and governance measures.
• Participate in architecture discussions and mentor teammates.
