Job summary

HyundaiAutoEverAmerica is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Irvine, CA to design and optimize scalable Python-based data pipelines and modern data platforms. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable analytics-ready data.

The role focuses on ETL/ELT development, data quality, automation, and cloud-enabled data lakehouse architectures using Bronze/Silver/Gold models. Strong SQL, Python, and Spark experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in data warehouse or MDM applications.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Strong programming and scripting skills, including Python and PL/SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing ETL/ELT data pipelines and supporting production data workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable Python-based data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of data.
• Build and manage data workflows using Apache Airflow or equivalent tooling including scheduling and monitoring.
• Implement Medallion Architecture data layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for governance and analytics.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT solutions to ingest data from databases, APIs, flat files, and streaming sources.
• Create reusable Python frameworks to standardize ingestion, transformation, validation, and monitoring processes.
• Apply data quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
• Manage production data workloads and perform root cause analysis and tuning.
• Design and maintain data models aligned with business requirements for analytics and ML use cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop automation for deployment and data quality monitoring; implement CI/CD for data workflows.
• Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and metrics for data pipeline health.
