Job summary

Point72 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for Proprietary Research in New York. You will design and build end-to-end data pipelines, work with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists, and contribute to scalable data infrastructure.

You will lead efforts, evaluate new technologies, and prioritize robust, compliant data solutions in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This role emphasizes data processing, cloud systems, and research-grade data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related development work with distributed data technology.
• Experience with system design and leading multi-person development efforts
• Strong experience in Python development
• Experience with Spark and Cloud computing is a plus
• Track record of delivering novel and innovative solutions to challenges
• Knowledge of/experience with graph databases is a plus

ABOUT PROPRIETARY RESEARCH

On our proprietary research team—Market Intelligence—you’ll partner with our Investment Professionals and Compliance team to uncover insights about companies, industries, and the broader economy through deep fundamental research and applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Senior Data Engineers on the Proprietary Research team design and build solutions that enable investment professionals to effortlessly extract insights from large, complex structured and unstructured data sets.As a senior member of our Data Engineering team, you will help set technical direction and work closely with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists to design, build, and launch robust end-to-end data pipelines and tools that that help extract the most value out of Point72’s data assets. In this role, you will:

The annual base salary range for this role is $250,000-$300,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
