Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Data Engineer to build and operate large-scale data pipelines turning telemetry from 25M devices into reliable data products. You will handle high-throughput ingestion, processing, and storage within Kubernetes to deliver scalable, observable systems.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, apply streaming/batch frameworks, and implement robust monitoring with ELK and Grafana while advancing security and design standards.

Qualifications

Experience processing ≥1TB of telemetry daily.
Proficient in Scala, Java, or C++ in production.
Experience with streaming/batch pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Flink).
Deploying containerized workloads on Kubernetes in production.
Automation/monitoring with Terraform, Ansible, Elasticsearch or Grafana.

Responsibilities

Architect and operate scalable data pipelines ingesting telemetry.
Develop distributed systems within Kubernetes environments.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate data requirements.
Establish observability standards using ELK and Grafana.
Advance deployment quality with AI-assisted tooling and rigorous design.
