Job summary

The Daily Wire, LLC is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to architect and build enterprise data systems that connect subscribers, content, advertising, and products. This hands-on role spans backend services, event-driven pipelines, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and personalization.

You will influence technical strategy across infrastructure, analytics, and product-facing platforms while leading the design of scalable data workflows and ML pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software/data engineering experience.
• Advanced experience with Snowflake and dbt for warehouse design and data transformation.
• Proven experience building and operating enterprise-grade platforms on AWS including SageMaker and Personalize.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production operations.
• Experience with streaming and messaging tech such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Kinesis Data Firehose, or Apache Flink.
• Experience building pipelines for ML model training, serving, recommendations, and content personalization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the long-term vision for the data ecosystem, including infrastructure, ingestion, storage, and real-time analytics.
• Design and implement distributed systems, high-availability APIs, event streams, and real-time data pipelines.
• Build resilient backend services and data workflows using Python or Go and advanced SQL.
• Design and scale Snowflake data warehouses and layered dbt models for reliable data products.
• Partner with product and analytics to define event schemas and unified semantic layers.
• Architect and operate production ML infrastructure and low-latency inference systems for content discovery.
• Establish standards for testing, observability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership across AWS, containers, architecture reviews, and incident response.
