Job summary

Eurofins USA Environment Testing seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines for ML model training and analysis of chemical data. You will work with ML engineers and chemists to build scalable ETL/ELT processes, models, and governance across chromatogram datasets.

The role emphasizes cloud-based data warehousing, ML infrastructure, and robust data quality practices within a scientific data context. Strong English communication and US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level Python with Pandas and NumPy; strong data engineering foundations.
• Hands-on cloud experience (Azure preferred) with data storage and compute services.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses for ML use cases.
• Familiar with ML workflows and MLOps tools; ability to collaborate with ML engineers and chemists.
• Experience handling complex scientific data (chromatography, mass spectrometry) is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship; strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: design, build, and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for chemistry data.
• Data Modeling & Warehousing: create optimized data models and support fast ML feature engineering.
• ML Infrastructure: containerize and deploy ML models; build retraining and monitoring pipelines.
• Data Quality & Governance: implement robust checks and governance for reproducible chemistry data.
• Tooling: develop internal tools and APIs to enable data access for ML engineers and chemists.
