Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas seeks a Senior Data Engineer to architect scalable data platforms, primarily on Azure, and enable ML models with governance and scalable data pipelines. You will lead data preparation, transformation, and delivery across the organization while aligning with Data Science teams.

Qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with machine learning capabilities to build the data foundation behind our ML models. You will lead the design of scalable, well-governed data platforms, primarily on Azure, bringing external retail and third-party data into a medallion architecture. Working closely with Data Science and ML teams, you will set the technical direction for how data is prepared, transformed, and delivered across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Functions, and Synapse.
• Profile and onboard external third-party/retail datasets into a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) aligned with master dimension tables.
• Execute large-scale data migrations and refactor complex semi-structured source data (e.g., XML) into analysis-ready structures.
• Establish enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, quality controls, and feature-ready models to support recurring business cycles.
• Partner with Data Science teams to productionize ML models while enforcing Git code review and documentation standards.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 7 years of data engineering experience with lead or architect-level ownership of production platforms.
• Hands-on proficiency across the Azure cloud stack: Data Factory, Databricks, Functions, and Synapse.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including practical application of PySpark or pandas for large-scale data transformation.
• Solid experience with medallion architecture, dimensional modeling, and master data management joins.
• Ability to travel occasionally to the Midtown Atlanta, GA client site.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS or GCP platforms.
• Salesforce integration experience (data sync, APIs, or migrations).
• Background in CPG or retail datasets (POS, syndicated data).
• Experience developing ML feature pipelines and supporting model deployment.
