Job summary

WME is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and modernize the legacy SQL data estate that powers its product and engineering applications. You will ensure high availability, build data pipelines, and deliver analytics-ready data for reporting and AI.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in data and/or database engineering with progressive responsibility.
  • Deep SQL Server administration including T-SQL, optimization, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience modernizing legacy SQL environments — consolidation, upgrades, migration.
  • ELT / pipeline engineering and integration from multiple sources.
  • Data modeling and analytics-ready datasets; Power BI data layers are a plus.
  • Foundational data governance and experience operationalizing privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).

Responsibilities

  • Legacy SQL estate: support, stabilize, and modernize with governance and strategy.
  • Data pipelines: build, modernize, and orchestrate resilient ELT processes.
  • Model data and deliver analytics-ready datasets for BI and AI.
  • High availability and disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Data governance, privacy, and regulatory operations at the data layer.
  • Develop database ownership and runbooks, with mentorship toward broader ownership.
