Job summary

Capital One's Risk Tech division is seeking Data Engineers to build data-driven tools and ML-powered risk solutions. You will collaborate with GRC teams and cross-disciplinary engineers to deploy scalable, cloud-first data platforms designed to protect customers and the business.

You will design and deliver end-to-end data pipelines, champion data quality and security, and mentor peers while driving innovation across Capital One's data ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of application development experience (internships not counted).
• At least 2 years of experience in distributed data.
• At least 2 years of experience with SQL.
• At least 2 years of experience with one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
• At least 2 years of experience in data pipeline design and development.
• At least 1 year of experience in data modeling and end-to-end data solutions using relational and non-relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design and implement data engineering solutions.
• Lead data pipelines and lakehouse architecture with scalability and resilience.
• Work with ML, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver AI-powered risk solutions.
• Implement data security standards including encryption and access controls.
• Mentor other data professionals and promote best practices.
