Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Engineer to help build a scalable Google Cloud Platform-based data platform.

You will design and maintain data pipelines with Dataflow, optimize BigQuery schemas, and craft Looker reporting layers for analytics across the organization. The role emphasizes data governance, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and performance monitoring to ensure reliable data delivery and impactful insights.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
• Proficient in GCP-based data platform architecture.
• Expertise in BigQuery, including schema design, queries, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Dataflow for batch and streaming pipelines.
• Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals (ETL/ELT, data modeling).
• Familiarity with Looker or equivalent BI tooling.
• Nice to have data governance, data cataloging, and lineage awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines leveraging Dataflow on GCP.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery data models and queries.
• Create and maintain reporting and analytics layers with Looker or similar BI tools.
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the GCP Data Platform.
• Apply data governance across pipelines and datasets (access, quality, lineage, and docs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data needs into scalable solutions.
• Monitor and resolve data pipeline performance and reliability issues.
