Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to enable growth for its WAS business. You will define data models, optimize database performance, and collaborate with WAS, SAM, and SCFR teams to deliver high‑quality data solutions in a dynamic environment.

You will implement best practices, work with ETL tools (Informatica, Airflow), ensure data quality, and support data strategies for high‑net-worth client data across Schwab’s Wealth and Investment Solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years data engineering experience.
• 7+ years data engineering, 5+ years development, and 3+ years PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Establish nomenclature, data catalogs, provenance, standards, semantics and usage of data.
• Strong SQL/PL/SQL and NoSQL knowledge.
• Experience in multi-datacenter DB installations, disaster recovery, and replication.
• Unix scripting and ability to work in Unix.
• Provide database technical support for Technology and Application Delivery projects.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain database models (conceptual to physical) with stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and optimize database schemas and views.
• Support ETL processes using Informatica, Airflow, Snowflake; assist ingestion and transformations.
• Establish data quality metrics and monitoring to identify issues.
• Coordinate planning for OS, databases, apps, upgrades and releases.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across Schwab WAS ecosystem.
