Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases. The role combines hands-on coding with architectural ownership and collaboration with governance teams.

You will work in a hybrid Richmond, VA environment, delivering enterprise-grade ELT solutions, streaming pipelines, and robust data quality and security practices. 5–7+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL, ELT patterns, and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud/on‑prem data warehouses (Oracle Exadata, Snowflake).
• Hands-on with enterprise ETL/ELT platforms (Talend, dbt, Informatica).
• Deep data warehousing architecture and dimensional modeling knowledge.
• Production-grade data pipelines experience (large scale).
• Scripting in Python and shell.
• Data virtualization and DataOps/CI‑CD/observability experience.
• 5–7+ years in Data Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build end‑to‑end data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions for analytics and AI/ML use cases.
• Develop scalable batch and streaming data workflows with low latency and high reliability.
• Tune performance of pipelines, warehouses, and workloads.
• Review data modeling, transformations, and validation logic for quality and efficiency.
• Prototype and configure tooling and platforms to meet project needs.
• Ensure security, governance, and data quality across pipelines.
• Collaborate with governance and DataOps on metadata and lineage.
