Job summary

Leidos in Bethesda is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform, building data intelligence pipelines for OSINT and DoW/IC.

You will design and deploy scalable data services, collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and government stakeholders, and mentor teammates in an agile environment.

This role requires TS/SCI clearance and offers opportunities to shape architecture and deliver high-impact software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 12–15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 10–13 years.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain Polygraph.
• Experience designing and optimizing Elasticsearch/OpenSearch architectures.
• Experience with graph databases and hierarchical/highly connected data modeling.
• Large-scale ETL/ELT pipeline development and distributed storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize Elasticsearch indices for large-scale data and fast queries.
• Develop scalable ingestion pipelines and graph data store for analytics.
• Collaborate with infra and platform teams to deploy Elasticsearch and graph services in Kubernetes.
• Partner with data scientists and AI/ML engineers to manage data lifecycle.
• Support SAFe Agile processes and contribute to architecture discussions.
• Ensure high availability, security, and quality software delivery.
