Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks a senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and Databricks-based workflows across on-prem and cloud platforms. You will lead data migration from legacy Oracle environments and support analytics/reporting with Tableau and BI tools.

Expected skills include Databricks, SQL/PLSQL, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and Tableau; strong knowledge of database design and performance optimization is required.

Qualifications

Experience in writing SQL is required.
Experience in writing PL/SQL code is preferred.
Experience in data extraction, transition, and load (ETL) is preferred.
Experience with Oracle or Sql Plus or Sql Developer for database development is required.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and maintains data pipelines and workflows in Databricks.
Analyzes requirements and translates them into technical specifications for data processing and reporting.
Develops and maintains Databricks notebooks and ETL processes to support analytics needs.
Prepares documentation and assists with testing to ensure accuracy of reports.
